The football star of the past, Alex Ferguson, has been quizzed on a range of topics as he prepares to celebrate his 70th birthday.
He is set to be quizzed by a tax examiner in London on Wednesday after his £1.6million sale to Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin.
The FA is expected to reveal the results of the examination on Thursday.
It comes just days after the Premier League champions announced they had launched an internal investigation into allegations of improper conduct by Ferguson’s former assistant, Chris Davies.
Ferguson’s agent, Alan Curran, said in a statement: “This is an ongoing investigation.
Ferguson will take on his new assistant, Davies, on the final day of the Premier Leagues season on Friday.”
The FA and Alex have taken the matter very seriously and we will continue to cooperate fully with any investigations.”
Ferguson will take on his new assistant, Davies, on the final day of the Premier Leagues season on Friday.
He will join Premier League leaders Manchester City for their home game against Sunderland.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini said in his post-match press conference on Saturday that Ferguson’s new assistant was a “top talent” and was “in the best form of his career”.
Ferguson, who has been at Manchester United since 1999, won five trophies in a career that included the Premier Football League title, FA Cup, Champions League and two League Cups.
He also won the Champions League twice and the FA Cup in 2006 and 2011.
He also played in three UEFA Cup finals.
