The death was ruled a suicide.
But the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Theodore Williams, 51, a licensed Virginia physician, died from cocaine toxicity after a cocaine overdose at his home in Virginia on April 19, the Fairfax County Medical Examiner’s Office said in a statement Monday.
He had been on medical leave since his wife, Joanne Williams, died after she overdosed on cocaine.
Her body was discovered in a bathtub on May 2.
Her death was the subject of a major investigation.
The death is still being investigated.
The autopsy report on Joanne’s death was completed Friday, but the results will not be released until after the inquest.
A Virginia State Police spokeswoman told ABC News the investigation is still ongoing.
