Bartlesville police search for two people who were beaten, injured in attack

The search for a man who was beaten and injured in a crossword puzzle has ended, according to the Bartlesburg Police Department.

The incident happened Monday afternoon in the area of 14th and Wabash Streets.

The suspect was beaten by two men and the injuries were described as serious, police said.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Police said the suspect may have gotten into an argument with the two men after they approached the area where the crossword was placed.

The crossword had been placed on a wall with the words “I’m sorry” and “I love you” and was covered in blood, the police department said in a news release.

The suspects fled the scene on foot, police stated.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Bartlesboro Police Department Detective Jason Eisler at 678-846-3300.
